Best Futures Prop Firms in 2026
We ranked every major futures prop firm on payout speed, drawdown fairness and true cost. Here is the shortlist that actually pays.

There are now more than forty futures prop firms competing for your evaluation fee. Most are reselling the same two data feeds with a different logo. These are the six worth your money in 2026 — ranked on the things that decide whether you ever see a payout. Every price and rule below was re-checked in July 2026, after Apex 4.0, Tradeify's rename and MyFundedFutures' new lineup.
How we ranked them
- Payout reliability — do funded traders actually get paid, and how fast?
- Drawdown structure — end-of-day and static beat intraday trailing every time.
- True cost — evaluation fee plus activation fee plus reset fee, not the headline price.
- Rule clarity — hidden consistency rules are the number one reason payouts get denied.
The 2026 shortlist
| Rank | Firm | Best for | Drawdown |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Topstep | Trust and track record | EOD trailing |
| 2 | Apex Trader Funding | Lowest entry cost | EOD or intraday |
| 3 | Tradeify | Skipping the evaluation | EOD trailing |
| 4 | Lucid Trading | Best default 90% split | EOD trailing |
| 5 | MyFundedFutures | Choosing your rulebook | EOD or intraday |
| 6 | Alpha Futures | Fast one-step evaluation | EOD trailing |
The one rule that decides everything
Drawdown type. An intraday trailing drawdown follows your unrealised peak, so a trade that goes +$800 and closes at +$200 permanently tightens your buffer by $800. An end-of-day drawdown only recalculates on your closing balance, so that same trade costs you nothing.
The good news for 2026: end-of-day is now the industry default. Topstep, Tradeify, Lucid and Alpha Futures all use it, and Apex and MyFundedFutures let you choose between end-of-day and intraday. True static drawdown — a floor that never moves at all — has become rare, though Apex still offers a static variant on its $100k account.
Rule of thumb: your true cost is the evaluation fee × the number of attempts you realistically need, plus the activation fee. A 90%-off evaluation with a $300 activation fee behind it is not the bargain it looks like.
